Get to know you & your vision
In your first lesson, I’ll ask a few get-to-know-you questions to understand your wedding, your song, and how you want your first dance to feel. We’ll talk about your comfort level, whether you’re drawn to choreography or something more natural, and any special moments you want to include.
From there, we begin with basics tailored to your music and create a relaxed space to start moving together.
Build a dance that feels like you
I develop personalized choreography and partner skills based on your abilities, your music, and what motivates you as a couple.
Sometimes that means learning choreography early; other times it means focusing on intention, connection, and lead-and-follow, so the dance feels natural. I guide you as you practice, problem-solve, and communicate with each other.
Practice, refine, & gain confidence
As we continue, I adjust each lesson to what you need in the moment—helping you manage flow, energy, and transitions, and shaping meaningful moments like your entrance, a big highlight, or a strong finish.
I’ll often film you at the end of lessons so you have clear visuals to practice with. By the end, you won’t just have a first dance—you’ll have partner skills you can use long after the wedding, and the confidence to walk onto the dance floor feeling connected and at ease.

I teach in various locations and studios. I mainly teach in the Mission district, San Francisco, but I'm also available in Richmond, San Rafael, and your home depending on my availability.

The best time to start is now! Some couples begin as early as one year in advance. Take the stress and mystery out of the process by allowing yourself ample time to plan and pace your lessons freely, without worrying about a time crunch. That said, we offer different packages to accommodate those starting closer to their big day.
What if we’re very short on time?
Call ASAP! Even with just one or two lessons, I can help you prepare a few moves, a nice entrance, and possibly even a dip or lift. Let’s ensure your first dance is memorable! -
That depends on your specific goals and vision for your dance. The best thing to do is reach out and I can tailor you a timeline and total number of lessons that best meets your needs.

No preparation needed—just bring yourself! Come dressed in clothes you feel comfortable moving in, along with secure footwear like sneakers or socks. We don’t want your outfit getting in the way while you’re learning.
Once we’ve gone over a few moves or started your routine, you can switch into heels or your practice dress if you’d like. I’ll also help you clarify your goals and can guide you in choosing your song if you’re still deciding.

Yes, I have experience working with same-sex couples. I’ll work with you to adapt the partnering dynamics so the dance feels natural, comfortable, and true to your relationship.

Yes, here your safety is a priority. I am always excited to teach your first lift or dip, it's usually one of the most thrilling moments of your dance. I will work with you to find a variation of these moves that looks good, is safe, and you're comfortable doing.

Yes, I teach parent dances! Usually this only needs to be 1 session and I stay mindful to not reuse choreography from your first dance to maintain a distinguished look.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Each lesson time is reserved exclusively for you, which prevents that time from being offered to another couple. Because openings created with less than 24 hours’ notice are difficult to fill, cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson, as well as no-shows, will incur a cancellation fee.
I have a no-refund policy. Due to the policies of my payment system provider and to keep my business sustainable, I cannot process refunds. Including accidental charges or mistaken purchases. However, the value of the service purchased may be used by the buyer or re-gifted within 365 days of your purchase.
